Role Overview

As an Electrical Fitter in our Waterfront division, your responsibilities will be unique and impactful. Babcock serves as the Ministry of Defence's commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, delivering specialized engineering support services, including the oversight of infrastructure and nuclear facilities.

Your daily tasks will involve troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues, as well as performing maintenance on various electrical systems.


• Execute both planned and responsive maintenance on diverse electrical systems

• Identify and rectify defects

• Adhere to necessary electrical regulations and utilize maintenance documentation to ensure safety and health

Essential Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter


• Demonstrated experience in electrical fitting or maintenance within an industrial or commercial setting

• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings

• Committed to safe working practices – capable of understanding work statements, risk assessments, etc.

• Comfortable with occasional work at heights and in confined spaces

This is a permanent position with a Monday to Friday schedule, comprising 36 hours per week, including early finishes on Fridays. The role is based at HMNB Clyde near Helensburgh.

Qualifications Required for the Electrical Fitter in our Waterfront Team


• Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship, qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (NVQ3, City & Guilds, HNC, etc.)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC level security clearance for this position.
