Role Overview

As an Electrical Fitter in our Waterfront division, your responsibilities will be unique and impactful. Partnering with the Ministry of Defence at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialized engineering support services, including the oversight of infrastructure and nuclear facilities.

Your daily tasks will involve diagnosing issues, repairing, and maintaining the electrical components of our facilities.


• Execute both planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of electrical systems

• Identify and rectify defects

• Adhere to electrical regulations and work safely from maintenance documentation

Essential Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter


• Demonstrated experience in electrical fitting or maintenance within an industrial or commercial setting

• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings

• Committed to safe working practices – capable of understanding work statements and risk assessments

• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when necessary

This is a permanent position with a Monday to Friday schedule, comprising 36 hours per week, including early finishes on Fridays. The role is based at HMNB Clyde near Helensburgh.

Qualifications Required


• Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship, qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (NVQ3, City & Guilds, HNC, etc.)

The successful candidate must be able to obtain SC level security clearance for this position.
