Position Overview

As an Electrical Fitter in our Marine Division, you will engage in unique responsibilities that are vital to our operations.


Your daily tasks will include performing electrical fitting duties, conducting repairs, and executing inspections on systems and equipment within our Marine section, as well as in other departments as necessary.


  • Execute all scheduled preventative maintenance and nuclear-related tasks to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Identify and rectify all system defects and modifications to maintain the operational efficiency of Marine Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with current processes and propose enhancements to systems and procedures to boost productivity in line with established goals and timelines.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, Safe Systems of Work, and control work processes as per company policy.
Essential Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter

  • Proven experience in a marine or industrial engineering setting, particularly in electrical maintenance.
  • Comfort in working at heights, in confined spaces, and under adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings, coupled with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to producing high-quality work that meets stringent acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with maintenance procedures, risk assessments, and Safe Systems of Work, along with excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
Standard working hours are 36 hours per week.

8:05 to 16:45 from Monday to Thursday, and 8:05 to 12:05 on Friday. Full-time onsite commitment is required.

Qualifications Required

  • Recognized Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship qualified to SVQ Level 3 (or NVQ or C&G equivalent) or HNC and above in an Electrical Engineering discipline, along with relevant industry experience.
The successful candidate must be eligible for SC security clearance for this position.
