Job Summary:

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join one of our esteemed clients in the Pontypool area. As a key member of the HR team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to ensure the effective management of employee relations, recruitment, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations:
    • Monitor and manage employee attendance and performance, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Conduct thorough investigations and hearings, maintaining a fair and impartial approach.
    • Mediate conflicts and grievances, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Recruitment and Talent Development:
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, collaborating with agencies and interviewing candidates.
    • Design and deliver employee inductions, training programs, and development initiatives.
    • Liaise with educational institutions to identify and attract top talent.
    • Provide expert advice on employment law, company policies, and procedures to managers, employees, and stakeholders.
    • Negotiate contracts, working conditions, and redundancy packages, ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
    • Manage the company's workwear contract and time and attendance system, producing regular reports.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Proven experience in a HR role, with a strong understanding of employment law and company policies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff.
    • Approachable and hands-on, with a calm and assertive demeanor, able to work under pressure without direct supervision.
  • Working Conditions:
    • 4-day working week, Monday to Thursday, with occasional Fridays required.
    • Minimum 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary of £40,000 per annum.
  • Benefits:
    • Pension scheme with Royal London, with a 9% contribution scheme.
    • On-site parking and 23 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays.
