Job Summary:

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join one of our esteemed clients in the Pontypool area. As a key member of the HR team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR operations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: Monitor and manage employee attendance and performance, undertake disciplinary investigations and hearings, and deal with grievances and mediate between employees.
  • Recruitment and Induction: Recruit employees, advertise job openings, liaise with recruitment agencies, and conduct interviews. Carry out employee inductions, training, and development programs.
  • Employee Engagement: Liaise with colleges and universities in relation to apprenticeships, advise managers and employees on employment law and company policies, and negotiate contracts and redundancy packages.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage the company workwear contract, run the time and attendance system, and produce reports.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a previous HR role.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Approachable and hands-on, with the ability to work on the shop floor.
  • Calm and assertive, with the ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.

Working Conditions:

  • 4-day working week, Monday to Thursday, with some Fridays required. Working hours will be discussed at interview.
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week.

Contract Details:

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
