Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are collaborating with an innovative and globally recognized architectural firm celebrated for their commitment to creating environments that enhance community interactions within urban settings. They are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technical and Compliance Architect to oversee multiple projects within the firm.

Operating from their exceptional workspace, you will be a seasoned architect with a proven track record of guiding projects through all RIBA stages, possessing robust technical expertise. You will work alongside a talented team of architects and management, focusing on ensuring compliance with building regulations for project submissions to secure necessary approvals. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about design principles, possesses strong technical skills, and has a genuine interest in the integration of architectural processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Building Regulation and Planning Department (BRPD) services, ensuring adherence to the Building Safety Act.
  • Maintain compliance tracking systems for each project and oversee design progression.
  • Present architectural concepts in meetings and industry gatherings, highlighting compliance aspects.
  • Stay informed about current building regulations and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with project team members and consultants regarding compliance issues.
  • Engage with internal project teams to meet BRPD timelines and standards.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements and assist in the advancement of office systems and policies.
  • Support business development efforts through tenders and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Participate in recruitment activities and represent the firm at industry events.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree in architecture with ARB registration or equivalent qualifications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-ARB registration experience on advanced stages of large-scale projects.
  • Experience with Higher Risk Buildings is advantageous for this position.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency and design detail.
  • A deep passion for architectural design, theory, and history.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual.
