Job Summary:

Murlac Limited is seeking an experienced Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our yard, working closely with our Works Delivery Coordinator. In this crucial role, you will need to ensure that all equipment is correctly prepared and ready for transport to our job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle and Trailer Maintenance: Conduct weekly checks on our fleet of up to 10 LGVs, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Forklift Operation: Safely operate a counterbalance forklift, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Loading and Unloading: Prepare and load site vehicles for upcoming jobs and unload them upon return, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
  • Logistics Management: Manage the sending and receiving of deliveries and unloading of HGVs, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Yard Maintenance: Keep the yard organized, including equipment storage, stocktaking, and overall upkeep, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee site staff when they are present in the yard, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Record Management: Maintain accurate records, including daily forklift checks and LOLER compliance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordination: Provide daily updates to the Works Delivery Coordinator, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence: Clean and valid driving license.
  • FLT Licence: Valid counterbalance forklift license.
  • Trailer Handling: Experienced in driving and reversing light goods trailers.
  • Physical Fitness: Able to handle the demands of a physically intensive role.
  • IT Skills: Comfortable with digital reporting and IT tools.
  • Experience: Proven track record in a similar role with related responsibilities.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Additional Information:

  • Start Time: You will be required to open the yard and warehouse by 7:00 AM each day.
