Our Team

We are a vibrant and fast-paced organization, employing around 13,600 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots across the UK. We supply all major food retailers with a wide range of products, from sandwiches and soups to cooking sauces and ready meals.

Our Operations

We operate a vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising 17 depots nationwide, which enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties. Our Tamworth depot is a large picking depot and one of the busiest and most complex in the area, managing 5 major contracts and making over 2000 deliveries per day.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team. As a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a shift in the warehouse to ensure the delivery of the inbound, picking, and despatch plan, and that operational key performance indicators and costs are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the warehouse teams to ensure that there is an adequate resource plan, and that colleagues are supported in their roles and are effective.
  • Lead the risk assessment, accident investigation, operational inspection, and behavioural monitoring processes to ensure a safe workplace and operation, and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Manage operational controls, including administration and system compliance, to ensure that operational information relating to warehouse activities is accurate and demonstrates control in the event of an audit or investigation.
  • Manage development and engagement activities across the shift to ensure that colleagues are enabled and delivering maximum performance.
  • Manage operational costs associated with the warehouse shift to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Manage any contractor activity taking place on the shift to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Warehouse shift management experience.
  • People management experience, including management of absence, disciplinary, and grievances.
  • Food safety experience.
  • Financial understanding.
  • Health and safety operational experience.
