Location: Tamworth
Salary: £32,500 per annum (based on a 41.25-hour week)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:45 AM – 4:00 PM

Murlac Limited is seeking a skilled Yard Operations Supervisor to manage the daily functions of our yard, collaborating closely with the Works Delivery Coordinator. In this pivotal position, you will ensure that all equipment is properly prepared and ready for transportation to various job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle and Trailer Maintenance: Perform weekly inspections on our fleet of up to 10 LGVs.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Loading and Unloading: Prepare and load vehicles for upcoming assignments and manage unloading upon return.
  • Logistics Management: Oversee the sending and receiving of deliveries, including unloading of HGVs.
  • Yard Maintenance: Maintain an organized yard, focusing on equipment storage, inventory management, and overall cleanliness.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise site personnel when they are present in the yard.
  • Record Management: Keep accurate records, including daily forklift inspections and compliance with LOLER regulations.
  • Coordination: Provide daily updates to the Works Delivery Coordinator regarding yard operations.

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence: Must possess a clean and valid driving license.
  • FLT Licence: A valid counterbalance forklift license is required.
  • Trailer Handling: Experience in driving and maneuvering light goods trailers is essential.
  • Physical Fitness: Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency with digital reporting and IT tools is necessary.
  • Experience: A proven history in a similar position with relevant responsibilities is required.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical understanding is advantageous but not mandatory.

Additional Information:

  • Start Time: The yard and warehouse must be opened by 7:00 AM each day.
