Dredging Equipment Operator
Murlac Limited is seeking a skilled Dredging Equipment Operator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining dredging equipment to remove sediment, debris, and other materials from water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and harbors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate dredging equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitor dredging operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and environmental guidelines
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on dredging equipment
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE
- Collaborate with the dredging team and supervisors to ensure clear communication and coordination during operations
- Maintain accurate records of dredging activities
- Implement and follow environmental protection measures to minimize the impact of dredging operations on the surrounding environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating dredging equipment or working in a similar role within the maritime or construction industry is preferred
- Understanding of dredging operations, equipment maintenance, and repair techniques
- Relevant certifications such as a Marine Engine Driver's license, STCW, or other maritime certifications are an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions
- Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to dredging operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues quickly
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and report to supervisors
- Willingness to work extended hours, including full weeks away from home, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by project needs
