We Are Workforce Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Yard Manager to oversee the daily operations of our yard. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our yard, working closely with our Works Delivery Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Vehicle and Trailer Maintenance: Conduct regular checks on our fleet of up to 10 LGVs to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Forklift Operation: Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to transport equipment and materials.
- Loading and Unloading: Prepare and load site vehicles for upcoming jobs and unload them upon return, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Logistics Management: Manage the sending and receiving of deliveries and unloading of HGVs, coordinating with our Works Delivery Coordinator.
- Yard Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized yard, including equipment storage, stocktaking, and overall upkeep.
- Team Leadership: Oversee site staff when they are present in the yard, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate records, including daily forklift checks and LOLER compliance, to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordination: Provide daily updates to the Works Delivery Coordinator, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Driving Licence: Clean and valid driving licence.
- FLT Licence: Valid counterbalance forklift license.
- Trailer Handling: Experienced in driving and reversing light goods trailers.
- Physical Fitness: Able to handle the demands of a physically intensive role.
- IT Skills: Comfortable with digital reporting and IT tools.
- Experience: Proven track record in a similar role with related responsibilities.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical knowledge is desirable but not essential.
