Orthopaedic Outpatients Department Clerk

As a key member of the Orthopaedic Outpatients Department team, you will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure a seamless experience for our patients and visitors.
Main Responsibilities- Provide reception desk duties, handling patient inquiries, directing patients to waiting areas, and ensuring effective communication at all times.
- Answer phone calls and take messages in a professional and courteous manner.
- Report maintenance issues to the department manager and liaise with the works department to ensure timely resolution.
- Make appointments as needed and coordinate with other departments and disciplines.
- Ensure reports and referral letters are escalated to the appropriate personnel within established timescales.
- Prioritize workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Assemble case notes and ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide coverage for other department clerks during absences, sickness, or annual leave.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Assist with COSHH assessments and maintain the patient PCS computer system.
- Comply with data protection regulations and preserve patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attend mandatory training sessions as required.
- Organize departmental administration processes efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
