Job Description

AESC UK is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Sunderland. As a key member of our QA Projects team, you will play a crucial role in supporting current production and the development of a world-class and innovative mass manufacturing Gigafactory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and assess suppliers to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality control audits to ensure suppliers comply with company and industry standards.
  • Perform thorough inspections and tests of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to identify defects or non-conformities.
  • Maintain detailed reports on supplier quality and implement improvement plans where necessary.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and policies to ensure products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyse quality data and generate reports to track trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the design and development of new products or processes, providing input on quality requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments and participate in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify potential quality risks.
  • Lead or contribute to root cause analysis investigations to determine the underlying causes of quality issues.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree/HND level in an appropriate technical subject.
  • Previous experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality principles, methodologies, and tools, such as statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to make quantitative decisions.
  • Experience of Supplier audit (IATF16949/VDA6.3) and Supplier introduction activities.
  • New Product Introduction experience and Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEA, SPC).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility to work and travel at short notice.

Working Arrangements:
