We aim to enhance our Quality Assurance Projects team to support ongoing production and the development of a cutting-edge mass manufacturing Gigafactory. This role presents a unique chance to be part of a significant industrial initiative, embracing new technologies in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market.

Role Overview:

To assist with our New Plant and New Project initiatives, we are seeking an experienced Engineer with specialized expertise in Supplier Quality and Quality Assurance methodologies, including comprehensive knowledge of IATF16949:2016.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the selection and evaluation of suppliers to ensure the provision of essential materials.
  • Conduct visits to supplier facilities to observe and assess their manufacturing processes and compliance.
  • Perform regular quality audits to verify that suppliers adhere to both company and industry standards.
  • Execute thorough inspections and testing of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to detect defects or deviations from quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of supplier quality metrics, including defect rates, and implement necessary improvement strategies.
  • Offer technical guidance to suppliers aimed at reducing defect occurrences.
  • Develop and enforce quality control plans and procedures to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain, to address quality challenges and implement corrective measures.
  • Analyze quality data, conduct statistical evaluations, and generate reports to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
  • Participate in the design and development of new products or processes, contributing insights on quality requirements and validation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and engage in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential quality risks.
  • Lead or assist in root cause analysis investigations to uncover the fundamental causes of quality issues and formulate effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or HND in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in a quality engineering role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering context.
  • In-depth understanding of quality principles, methodologies, and tools, including statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Capability to analyze, interpret, and present data for informed decision-making.
  • Experience with Supplier audits (IATF16949/VDA6.3) and Supplier onboarding processes.
  • Familiarity with New Product Introduction and Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEA, SPC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel, including potential international assignments, at short notice.
