Job Summary

In the role of Quality Assurance Engineer, you will leverage your extensive knowledge and experience with high-pressure gas compression systems to assist in the installation and commissioning of Haskel & Butech products. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for all HRS at the Sunderland facility while leading a team of skilled technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commissioning of all Haskel systems, including FAT and successful witness testing.
  • Engage with clients on technical inquiries, taking ownership of resolution, fault finding, and troubleshooting PLC programs.
  • Create and refine robust testing protocols and commissioning documentation.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients.
  • Conduct on-site training sessions for clients, covering safe and efficient system/product operation and basic routine maintenance.
  • Review and finalize method statements and risk assessments as necessary.
  • Actively participate in departmental metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.
  • Adhere to the Ingersoll Rand code of ethics.
  • Play a vital role in following the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) processes and procedures.
  • Promote Six Sigma methodologies on the testing site.

Basic Qualifications

  • HNC in Electrical or PLC Engineering discipline.
  • Equivalent experience will be taken into account.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Travel may be required based on project and service contract needs, both within the UK and internationally.

Key Competencies

Essential:

  • Experience in Hydraulic Testing.
  • Proficiency in reading P&ID drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Fundamental understanding of PLC systems.
  • Leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient IT skills, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and JDE.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with pump technology, gas, hydraulic, and process systems.
  • Knowledge of ATEX/IECEx qualifications.
  • IPAF Certification.
  • Experience in PLC interrogation.
  • Software knowledge (Siemens/Mitsubishi).
  • Understanding of programming languages (Ladder Logic, ST, SFC, Function Block).
  • Experience in HMI screen programming.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with Haskel and Butech products.
  • Understanding of Haskel Systems (including O2 and H2).
