Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Bereavement Midwife Specialist to provide expert care and support to women and families facing pregnancy loss and the death of a baby. This role involves collaborating with another Specialist Midwife for Bereavement to deliver a comprehensive 7-day bereavement service, enhancing the quality of care at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The Specialist Midwife will be responsible for:

  • Delivering compassionate care and practical advice to families during difficult times.
  • Ensuring adherence to Trust policies and maintaining accurate records of care provided.
  • Utilizing clinical audits and research to improve care standards and resource efficiency.
  • Meeting reporting requirements as per national guidelines and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential qualifications include:

  • Registered Midwife with intravenous accreditation.
  • Experience in intrapartum care and staff management.

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of the National Bereavement Care Pathway and PMRT governance processes.
