Fetal Medicine Specialist Midwife

The Fetal Medicine Specialist Midwife will play a vital role in providing expert care within the Fetal Medicine team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled midwife to join our team and contribute to the safe, effective, and efficient running of the Fetal Medicine service.
Key Responsibilities- Service Provision: Ensure the safe, efficient, and effective provision of Fetal Medicine services in line with the Trust's strategic vision and policies.
- Support and Counselling: Provide sensitive and systematic support and counselling to women/birthing people concerning testing, high-risk results, or diagnosis of abnormality.
- Collaboration and Liaison: Develop close working relationships with the screening team, maternity teams, neonatology teams, ward areas, laboratory services, and tertiary fetal medicine providers to ensure seamless care for high-risk pregnancies and babies with anomalies.
- IT and Data Management: Be proficient in the use of IT systems and databases to effectively coordinate, document, and monitor the Fetal Medicine patient journey.
- Professional Development: Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the Lead fetal medicine midwife, sonography service, and the maternity bereavement midwife to ensure high-quality care and professional growth.

Person Specification- Essential: Registered Midwife, First-level degree in a related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence, Mentorship or teaching accreditation: ENB 997 or equivalent, SSSA supervisor and assessor.
- Desirable: Counselling qualification, Experience of counselling women/birthing people in AN screening or fetal anomaly.
