Job Title: Principal Practitioner Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to children and young people with gender diversity.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience working with children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based psychological interventions, providing clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff, and contributing to the development of our service.

You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including paediatricians, mental health practitioners, youth workers, nurses, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based psychological interventions for children and young people with gender diversity
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff
  • Contribute to the development of our service, including service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex mental health needs
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in providing evidence-based psychological interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
