Adult Principal Practitioner Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Practitioner Psychologist to join our Paediatric & Young Adult Liver Service at King's College Hospital.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical psychology services to children and young people (0-25 years) receiving liver care at King's College Hospital. This will involve assessing, treating, and discharging patients, as well as providing specialist psychological advice and guidance to colleagues and other professionals.
The post holder will also be responsible for developing and implementing psychological care pathways in liver services, as well as supervising and supporting other psychologists and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality clinical psychology services to children and young people (0-25 years) receiving liver care at King's College Hospital.
- Assess, treat, and discharge patients, as well as provide specialist psychological advice and guidance to colleagues and other professionals.
- Develop and implement psychological care pathways in liver services.
- Supervise and support other psychologists and healthcare professionals.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the BPS/HCPC.
- Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) with practitioner psychologist status – clinical, counselling or health psychologist.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more specialised areas of psychological practice (e.g. CBT, Motivational Interviewing or Systemic therapy).
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, with clinical experience in the management of psychosocial aspects of acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity.
