Job Title: Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist

Job Summary:

  1. To work as an autonomous clinician to provide specialist speech and language therapy to a high standard through appropriate assessment, and accurate analysis and clinical reasoning in order to interpret, diagnose as appropriate, set goals and provide treatment for patients with a range of complex neurological, head and neck and long-term conditions delivering therapy in the most appropriate environment for the patient e.g. in-patient wards, outpatient clinic, home, nursing homes.
  2. To work effectively with a range of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  3. To develop skills in videofluoroscopy and participate in FEES clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and management of dysphagia and communication disorders.
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals to deliver effective multidisciplinary team working.
  • Developing skills in videofluoroscopy and participating in FEES clinics.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with adults with complex conditions.
  • Competence in assessment and management of dysphagia and communication disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of healthcare professionals.
