JOB SUMMARY

As an Environmental Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine laboratory maintenance and essential daily operations. You will assist in various ecotoxicology assessments conducted on-site and collaborate effectively with team members to uphold high standards of work.

This role demands a commitment to delivering exceptional technical laboratory services in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards, aligning with NOV's strategic objectives. You will support designated ecotoxicology and environmental fate investigations as directed by senior personnel.

Your key responsibilities will encompass the upkeep and repair of laboratory apparatus, systems, and infrastructure within the Environmental laboratory.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Execute laboratory tasks and general duties as instructed by senior staff within the Environmental Unit.
  • Assist with designated studies as directed by Study Directors, ensuring adherence to GLP regulations.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities in compliance with GLP standards at all times.
  • Participate in the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment and systems.
  • Ensure timely calibration of equipment and maintain stock levels of necessary materials.
  • Engage in the enhancement of technical practices and method development.
  • Support fieldwork and other operational areas as required.
  • Exhibit professionalism while representing NOV.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Familiarize yourself with departmental and company procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Assist other departments and undertake additional responsibilities as directed by management.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to comprehend, assess, and apply technical information effectively.
  • Proficient in managing a diverse portfolio of products and services.
  • Skilled in time management to ensure task completion.
  • Willingness to provide necessary information to colleagues to facilitate their tasks.
  • Adept at identifying critical information and responding appropriately.
  • Capable of managing multiple activities to achieve objectives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • On-the-job training will be provided; prior experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Consideration will be given to school leavers and individuals seeking a career change.
