Position: Youth Support Specialist


Salary: £24,974 - plus £30 per sleep-in shift
Location: Ludlow
Schedule: 2 on 4 off or 1 on 2 off shift pattern
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities of a Youth Support Specialist

  • Encourage young individuals to engage in activities and take responsibility for their lives based on their age.
  • Maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the residential setting.
  • Effectively manage challenging behaviors when necessary.
  • Safeguard the health and welfare of children and young people.
  • Provide support to enhance the independence and well-being of the young residents.
  • Ensure a safe living environment for all young individuals.
  • Stay informed about each resident's care plan, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
  • Support challenging behaviors with empathy and safety.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.



Requirements for the Youth Support Specialist Position

  • Experience working with children or young people is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Background in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license is essential for transporting young individuals as needed.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People is preferred.
  • Ability to commute to Ludlow is required.
