Senior Environmental Consultant

RPS Group is looking for a Senior Environmental Consultant to enhance our Environment & Infrastructure Team. This position offers flexibility in terms of full-time or part-time engagement. The primary focus of this role will be to assist with environmental compliance and the preparation of consent applications for infrastructure initiatives, including renewable energy projects. RPS Group is a worldwide consultancy dedicated to various sectors of the built and natural environment, influencing the future of environmental, social, and economic frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute multiple consent applications
  • Collaborate with clients and design teams to ascertain required environmental consents
  • Provide guidance to clients regarding environmental risks throughout project phases
  • Identify essential consents and assessments with stakeholders and facilitate negotiations
  • Plan activities and supervise environmental site teams
  • Organize technical meetings across various teams
  • Create high-quality submission documents
  • Incorporate consent conditions into project designs
  • Convey consent requirements to project teams
  • Conduct audits of consent conditions and compliance

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or MSc in an environmental discipline
  • Proven experience in project planning and the delivery of environmental components
  • Experience with design and construction phases
  • Successful delivery of consent programs for significant infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with various consent processes
  • Understanding of planning frameworks and environmental impact assessments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Experience with NEC3/4 contracts is advantageous
