Job Summary
The Work, Health and Skills Team in Economic Affairs at Rochdale Council has a vacancy for a Work and Skills Development Officer to support the work, health and skills agenda.
About the Role
This role involves coaching and motivating residents to succeed in achieving their goals or accessing alternative provision if required. The successful applicant will be part of the Get Rochdale Working team, utilising their skills to liaise with residents, attend events and have a good understanding of the work and skills offer across the Rochdale Borough.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of residents, supporting them through a personalised action plan to achieve their potential.
- Utilise social media to engage with residents and promote the work and skills offer.
- Attend events and meetings to build relationships with stakeholders and promote the work and skills offer.
- Work closely with a wide range of partners, including council staff, police, social housing providers, NHS, public health, social care and drug and alcohol professionals to help people to change their behaviours and improve their lives.
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the work and skills offer across the Rochdale Borough.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, digital and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and reach their KPI's. They will also have an empathetic approach and an ability to identify someone's potential, encourage them to build on their skills and raise their aspirations.
Working Arrangements
The team works at both a borough wide and at neighbourhood levels, coordinating the work and skills offer and embedding it in the wider offer of the council and our partners. The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly and be able to adapt to changing priorities.
