Position Overview

Are you passionate about enhancing healthcare experiences? We invite you to join us as a Community Engagement Volunteer, contributing to a dedicated team of volunteers focused on improving services within our organization.

Note: This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Key Responsibilities

As a Community Engagement Volunteer, you will collaborate with various departments, influencing and guiding decisions throughout the organization.

Your role will involve fostering strong connections between healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and the wider community. You will ensure that patient perspectives and needs are prioritized in decision-making processes, representing diverse views at all organizational levels.

Volunteers in this role should be eager to deepen their understanding of the challenges faced by our organization and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing healthcare services. You will be encouraged to think broadly about health and wellness.

As a Community Engagement Volunteer, you will inspire and support others in navigating change, maintaining a focus on improving patient outcomes and experiences.

Projects may emerge from departmental needs for input on potential enhancements, where your insights as a Community Engagement Volunteer will be invaluable. You may also bring forward your own ideas for improvement, allowing us to assist you in exploring feasible solutions.

Who Can Become a Community Engagement Volunteer?

Ideal candidates will possess a willingness to learn about healthcare services, a commitment to improving them, and the ability to provide constructive feedback. Personal experience as a patient or caregiver is beneficial.

Volunteers should be prepared to represent diverse patient perspectives, including those from various backgrounds and health conditions. Understanding the unique challenges faced by our local community is advantageous.

Commitment to the role includes attending a comprehensive training program, which is conducted over several weeks. Following training, volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum duration, with the option to continue beyond that period.

While there is no fixed requirement for weekly hours, volunteers should indicate their availability and ensure they can maintain regular attendance for any group or project they join.
