About the Role

Venesky Brown is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a key member of the commercial team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage diverse projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks, and to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, to ensure that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the level of service provided.
  • Provide commercial advice and guidance to the site team, and management, on all contractual issues.
  • Manage and control the commercial aspects of projects, including contract negotiation, cost management, and risk assessment.
  • Develop and implement effective commercial strategies, to ensure that the company's interests are protected and that the company achieves its commercial objectives.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that may impact the successful delivery of the project.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's commercial policies and procedures, and ensure that they are applied consistently across all projects.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or at a similar level, with a strong track record of delivering commercial success.
  • Membership of a recognized professional body, such as CICES or RICS.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and working methods, with a thorough understanding of commercial contracts and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Desirable
  • Experience of working on large-scale construction projects, with a strong understanding of commercial contracts and procedures.
  • Knowledge of construction law and contractual terms, with a strong understanding of standard contract forms.
  • Experience of managing multiple suppliers, with a strong focus on building strong relationships and delivering commercial success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
