About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Venesky-Brown. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing diverse projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, with an emphasis on adding value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Commercial Management: Develop and implement commercial strategies to optimize project profitability.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with clients and suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
  • Team Management: Mentor and coach junior team members to enhance operational capabilities.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and control project finances, ensuring accurate cost performance data.
  • Reporting: Produce and present regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting project progress and financial performance.
  • Insurance Claims: Manage and process insurance claims, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Time Management: Manage time and workloads effectively, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Successful experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career.
  • Qualifications: Member of CICES or RICS.
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of construction processes and working methods.
  • Skills: Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach colleagues, committed to promoting equality and diversity.

Desirable:

  • Construction Law: Understanding of construction law and contractual terms in standard contract forms.
  • Supplier Management: Track record of managing multiple suppliers.
  • Client Relationships: Proven ability to maintain and enhance client relationships.
  • Joint Ventures: Experience of working on alliance or joint ventures.
  • Rail Experience: Experience in rail.
  • Contract Forms: Experience of ICC / NEC forms of Contract.
  • Civil Engineering: Experience of large civil engineering structures.
