Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Expert

About the Role:

Venesky-Brown is a leading global infrastructure and construction firm that prioritizes excellence, innovation, and sustainability. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a commercial leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage diverse projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness, with a focus on adding value to our clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to enhance their commercial skills and knowledge.
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team and management on all contractual issues.
  • Manage time and workloads for yourself and your commercial team in a structured manner.

Requirements:

  • Successful experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career, demonstrating effective core commercial skills.
  • Membership of CICES or RICS is highly desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction processes and working methods.
  • Demonstrable ability to mentor and coach colleagues.
  • Commitment to promoting equality and diversity.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of construction law and contractual terms in standard contract forms.
  • Track record of managing multiple suppliers.
  • Proven ability to maintain and enhance client relationships.
  • Experience of working on alliance or joint ventures.
  • Experience in rail.
  • Experience of ICC / NEC forms of Contract.
  • Experience of large civil engineering structures.

Working Arrangements:

  • 5 days on site.
  • Inside IR35.
