Portfolio Manager
Maven Capital Partners is seeking a Portfolio Manager to enhance our investment capabilities. This role is crucial as we expand our equity funding initiatives aimed at supporting high-growth enterprises across Scotland. The successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to engage with an established investment firm during the critical phase of deploying a significant new fund.
Your responsibilities will include providing strategic insights and support to the management teams of investee companies, critically assessing their strategies, and aiding in the execution of value enhancement plans, leveraging your professional network when necessary, all with the goal of maximizing shareholder value.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a business partner in a high-growth entrepreneurial setting focused on shareholder value creation.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, preferably with a CCAB qualification.
- Excellent communication and persuasion abilities, with experience managing diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and resilient, capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing sound commercial judgment and a robust professional network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging proactively with portfolio companies, from emerging growth businesses to established SMEs, to enhance shareholder value.
- Participating in board meetings of investee companies, providing strategic support and constructive feedback. Preparing investment committee documentation for follow-on funding or adjustments to terms, along with insightful performance reports.
- Focusing on value creation from investments, including hands-on support for portfolio companies needing direct assistance, which may involve restructuring, M&A activities, new business initiatives, and exit strategies.
