Our Sustainability and Carbon division offers expert guidance to clients on how to reduce their carbon footprint while enhancing performance across various sustainability dimensions. Our portfolio includes pioneering initiatives such as Decarbonisation / Net Zero Roadmaps, Whole Life Carbon Assessments, Sustainability Evaluations, TCFD compliance, and Carbon Accounting, all while utilizing cutting-edge digital tools. Given the comprehensive nature of sustainability, our team engages with a diverse range of sectors, including large-scale energy projects, water management, transportation, and governmental agencies.
The successful applicant will collaborate with various teams throughout the organization, contributing at both strategic levels and during the execution of major infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee carbon management, sustainability initiatives, and net zero strategies for our existing portfolio of major infrastructure projects and key clients.
- Drive the creation of innovative carbon and sustainability strategies, designs, solutions, and management frameworks.
- Manage and coordinate sustainability contributions on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Represent the organization at external forums when necessary, enhancing personal, team, and company reputation.
- Lead and support proposal efforts, contributing to the development of submissions and ensuring key themes are consistently communicated.
- Supervise the Manchester/Northern team of sustainability and carbon experts, fulfilling line management responsibilities and promoting team growth.
Qualifications:
- A degree in an environmental or engineering discipline, with chartered status from a recognized professional body.
- Demonstrated experience and current knowledge in areas such as carbon accounting, decarbonisation strategies, sustainability assessments, whole life carbon analysis, sustainability reporting, and supply chain engagement.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills, adaptable to various audiences and technical levels.
- Familiarity with UK sustainability and carbon regulations and standards applicable to infrastructure and corporate reporting in both public and private sectors.
- A strong commitment to leading, supporting, and developing team members.

Additional Information:
This position may require security clearance, and employment offers will depend on obtaining the necessary level of clearance. If this is applicable, it will be discussed during the interview process. The vetting procedure is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may necessitate candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK for a minimum of five years.
