We are currently collaborating with a wonderful Secondary School that specializes in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). We seek a dedicated and engaging individual to assist in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 classes, focusing on students with diverse SEN requirements. The school is committed to creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages students to thrive in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Support Assistant:

  • Assist the classroom teacher (4-8 students per class)
  • Participate in outdoor excursions and special activity days
  • Uphold the school's vision and core values
  • Work with students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), complex needs, and behavioral challenges
  • Full-time hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to help students stay aligned with the curriculum

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Patience, proactivity, and resilience - this role can be demanding, yet immensely fulfilling
  • Experience in a SEN educational setting (not mandatory)
  • A strong capacity to build relationships and rapport with students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Present an updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
  • Hold a DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
