We are currently seeking a dedicated and engaging individual to join our team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant in a Secondary School setting. This role is essential in providing support to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students with special educational needs, fostering a nurturing atmosphere that promotes effective learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher with a small group of students (4-8 pupils per class)
  • Participate in outdoor educational trips and special activity days
  • Adhere to the school's vision and core values
  • Work with students exhibiting Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), complex needs, and challenging behaviors
  • Full-time hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Engage in 1:1 and small group sessions to help students remain aligned with the curriculum

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Possess patience, proactivity, and resilience; this role can be demanding yet immensely fulfilling
  • Previous experience in a SEN educational environment is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong capability to build relationships and rapport with students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements to Work with GSL Education:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years
  • A DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education
