Salary: £13-15 per hour
Are you dedicated to fostering young learners' reading abilities? A prominent primary institution in Southport is in search of a committed Literacy Intervention Support to join their educational team, focusing on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1).
Position OverviewAs a Literacy Intervention Support, you will be instrumental in enhancing students' reading proficiency. Your mornings will involve delivering focused literacy lessons to a small group of pupils, ensuring personalized support for each child's advancement. In the afternoons, you will implement specialized interventions for EYFS and KS1 students who require extra assistance in achieving their literacy objectives.
Key Duties- Conduct daily literacy sessions for small groups, utilizing a structured literacy framework.
- Identify students needing additional help and provide targeted interventions to aid them in reaching their reading goals.
- Collaborate with classroom educators to design and execute literacy activities that align with the institution's curriculum.
- Evaluate and track students' progress, offering feedback to educators and guardians as necessary.
- Foster a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere where every child can thrive.
- Modify teaching strategies and resources to cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Assist in the creation of materials and techniques to enhance literacy instruction throughout the school.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development to remain informed about best practices in literacy education.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational context.
- A solid understanding of literacy and early reading development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and inspiring young learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to helping children succeed.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and staff.
- Good organizational skills and effective time management.
- A dedication to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience in implementing literacy programs (e.g., Read Write Inc., Letters and Sounds).
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare.
- Experience in providing support or interventions for children with learning challenges.
