Are you dedicated to fostering young learners' reading abilities? A prominent primary educational institution is in search of a committed Literacy Intervention Support to enhance their team, focusing on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1).
Position OverviewIn the role of Literacy Intervention Support, you will be instrumental in advancing students' reading skills. Your mornings will involve delivering focused literacy sessions to a small group of students, ensuring personalized attention for each child's development. Afternoons will be dedicated to providing specialized interventions for pupils needing extra support to reach their literacy objectives.
Key Duties- Conduct daily literacy sessions for small groups, utilizing a structured literacy framework.
- Identify students requiring additional assistance and implement targeted interventions to help them achieve their reading goals.
- Collaborate with classroom educators to design and execute literacy activities that align with the educational curriculum.
- Track and evaluate students' progress, offering constructive feedback to educators and guardians as necessary.
- Foster a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere conducive to student success.
- Modify teaching strategies and resources to cater to the diverse needs of learners.
- Contribute to the development of materials and techniques to enhance literacy instruction throughout the institution.
- Participate in relevant training and professional growth opportunities to remain informed about best practices in literacy education.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational context.
- A solid understanding of literacy development and early reading strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting children's success.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and staff.
- Good organizational skills and effective time management.
- A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience in implementing literacy programs.
- A relevant qualification in education or child development.
- Experience in providing additional support to children with learning challenges.
