Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supporting and developing our Critical Control Network (CCN) and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Safety and Quality:

  • Drive a culture of safety and quality, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Collaborate with process improvement teams to deliver projects and lead the site automation team.

Leadership and Development:

  • Support human resource requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve the understanding of automation systems among operators and technicians.

Delivery and Cost:

  • Develop and implement strategies for manufacturing execution systems (MES) and manufacturing applications support.
  • Manage the plant systems budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure manufacturing process continuity, recovering services with minimal shutdown time.

Security and Resilience:

  • Ensure the security and resilience of the CCN and systems, complying with all relevant security standards and procedures.
  • Deploy security practices, measures, and technologies to protect against cyber threats.

Projects and General:

  • Participate in projects to launch new products, install and start-up new production equipment, and implement plant-wide optimization projects.
  • Develop and implement standards and procedures to ensure data reliability and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Electrical/Technical degree relevant to local education systems or higher.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment (maintenance/engineering preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, develop others, and work in a team-based environment.
  • Profound knowledge and experience of programming, development, and configuration software.
  • Excellent computer system skills covering both servers and workstations.
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems, including networks, data transfer, and storage.
