Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supporting and developing our Critical Control Network (CCN) and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Safety and Health

  • Drive a culture of safety and health, and model behaviors that promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and legislation, and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Conduct regular safety observations and provide feedback to team members.

Quality

  • Develop and implement quality processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Train and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Leadership

  • Support the development of team members, including setting objectives and participating in recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Delivery and Cost

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage the Critical Control Network (CCN) and systems, including maintenance and development.
  • Ensure manufacturing process continuity by recovering services with minimal shutdown time.

Security and Resilience

  • Ensure the security and resilience of the Critical Control Network (CCN) and systems.
  • Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Projects

  • Participate in projects to launch new products, install and start-up new production equipment, and implement plant-wide optimization projects.
  • Lead and manage projects related to automation systems, including training and technical documentation.

General

  • Take ownership of performance targets and have a strong understanding of team and individual contributions to business objectives.
  • Drive manufacturing excellence through hands-on approach to Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) roll-out plan.
Requirements
  • Electrical or technical degree relevant to local education systems or higher.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment (maintenance/engineering preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, develop others, and work in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple complex, time-sensitive projects.
  • Profound knowledge and experience of programming, development, and configuration software.
  • Excellent computer system skills covering both servers and workstations.
  • Sound knowledge of IT systems, including networks, data transfer, and storage.
  • Systematic and logical approach to fault finding and problem solving.
