About the Role

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team at Addington Hostel. This role is vital to ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents. As a Support Worker, you will play a key part in providing daily support and assistance to men residing in our hostel.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications to residents as prescribed.
  • Assist with food services, ensuring residents have access to nutritious meals.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized living environment by assisting with cleaning and room setup.
  • Schedule intake appointments for new residents.
  • Document resident interactions and progress, providing regular updates on their well-being.
  • Act as a Fire Warden and provide first aid assistance when needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Hold a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent).
  • Possess at least one year of experience working as a Support Worker in New Zealand (or equivalent).
  • Have experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or addiction challenges.
  • Be comfortable working with an all-male client group.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Exhibit self-direction, confidence, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
