About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bid Manager to join our team at MacGregor Black. As a key member of our Sales function, you will be responsible for driving commercial performance and contributing to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bid Development: Lead the end-to-end process of writing and submitting bids, proposals, and tenders for educational opportunities, ensuring that all submissions meet the required standards and deadlines.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities, understand requirements, and gather relevant data and information to support bid submissions.
  • Content Creation: Write clear, concise, and compelling bid responses that effectively address the criteria and requirements of funders and awarding bodies, showcasing our company's expertise and value proposition.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple bids simultaneously, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the submission process is organized and efficient, with minimal risk of errors or delays.
  • Compliance: Ensure all bids comply with the relevant guidelines, standards, and criteria specified by funders, including legal and financial regulations, to maintain our company's reputation and credibility.
  • Editing and Review: Edit and proofread bid documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity, maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
  • Reporting: Track the progress and outcomes of submitted bids, providing regular updates and reports to senior management on success rates and lessons learned, to inform future bid strategies and improve performance.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on trends, policies, and best practices in the education sector and incorporate this knowledge into bid strategies, to stay ahead of the competition and capitalize on new opportunities.
Requirements
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail that aligns to tender processes.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyze complex data and information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines, with minimal supervision and maximum autonomy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis and presentation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the education sector, including funding mechanisms and policy trends, with a deep understanding of the market and its complexities.
