Position Overview

A vacancy exists at CNWL NHS Foundation Trust for a dedicated Lead Nurse specializing in Pediatric Eating Disorders. Our Community Eating Disorders Service for Children and Young People focuses on delivering exceptional care in children's mental health, making it essential to find candidates with substantial experience in this area.

Role Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will:
  • Provide senior nursing leadership, including line management and supervision for designated members of the Child and Young Person (CYP) nursing team.
  • Contribute to broader nursing initiatives within the All-Age Eating Disorders Service and the wider Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Eating Disorders Service line.
  • Oversee the assessment and treatment of children and young people affected by eating disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure a seamless treatment pathway from referral to discharge, collaborating closely with GPs, Paediatricians, CAMHS Teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the transition of young patients into Adult Services when necessary, working in conjunction with the Adult Eating Disorder Service.
  • Act as a role model and provide expert guidance to the nursing team, ensuring high-quality care for children and families.
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of the Community Eating Disorder Service, promoting innovative practices and evidence-based interventions.
  • Engage in research, audit, and service development initiatives aligned with clinical governance.

Team Composition

The team comprises a diverse group of professionals, including nursing staff, psychologists, assistant psychologists, systemic psychotherapists, dieticians, paediatricians, and psychiatrists. We are committed to expanding our capabilities by integrating systemic practitioners and developing nurses to the Advanced Clinical Practitioner level.
