Position Overview

The Structural Engineer will collaborate closely with the Engineering Line Manager, taking charge of projects within their designated authority and offering mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting technical and feasibility assessments, including coordinating site investigations
  • Utilizing various software tools to create comprehensive structural designs alongside manual calculations
  • Engaging with clients and diverse professionals such as contractors and architects
  • Drafting contract documents and overseeing the tender management process
  • Addressing design and development challenges
  • Overseeing budget management and project resources
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal standards, including CDM2015, Party wall agreements, and regulations for Listed buildings
  • Evaluating the sustainability and environmental implications of projects
  • Contributing to the marketing goals and initiatives of PACC
  • Assisting the director in the training and development of the engineering team
  • Supervising construction activities on-site, preparing interim and final accounts, and managing claims and practical completions
  • Adhering to the Company's administrative and personnel policies, as well as Health & Safety regulations

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (MEng or equivalent)

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural, and planning practices, with a solid understanding of current statutory requirements and technical guidelines
  • Proven experience in negotiation, supervisory, and leadership capacities
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets on large-scale projects
