Role Overview

In your capacity as an Alternative Provision Officer, you will be instrumental in assisting children, young individuals, and their families who require alternative educational provisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating in-year admission applications, considering the unique needs and situations of each student with diligence.
  • Compiling case files for In Year Fair Access Protocol (IYFAP) and Alternative Provision (AP) assessments, ensuring all pertinent information is accurately documented.
  • Serving as a primary resource for families, providing knowledgeable guidance on the in-year admission process and available alternatives.
  • Collaborating with internal departments and external organizations to devise innovative solutions that yield positive outcomes for those in need of alternative provisions.
  • Utilizing your exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including families and professional partners.

Qualifications Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of Signs of Safety and practical experience with solution-focused methodologies.
  • Experience in direct engagement with children, young individuals, and their families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to connect with various audiences effectively.
  • Capability to identify and respond to Child Protection and risk-related issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young individuals, and vulnerable adults.

About the Team
You will be part of the Alternative Provision team within our Inclusion service. We collaborate across various internal departments and external partners to identify solutions and create positive outcomes for children, young individuals, and their families requiring alternative educational provisions. Our focus is on promoting engagement, participation, and inclusion in education. We are a cooperative team dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of young people.
