Role Overview

In the capacity of an Alternative Provision Officer, you will be instrumental in assisting children, young individuals, and their families who require alternative educational options.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating in-year admission applications with a focus on student needs and circumstances.
  • Preparing comprehensive case files for the In Year Fair Access Protocol (IYFAP) and Alternative Provision (AP) assessments.
  • Serving as a primary resource for families, providing informed guidance on the admission process and available educational alternatives.
  • Collaborating with both internal departments and external organizations to devise innovative solutions and achieve favorable outcomes for those in need of alternative provision.
  • Utilizing your strong communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including families and professional partners.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of Signs of Safety and a practical understanding of solution-focused methodologies.
  • Experience in direct engagement with children, young people, and their families.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to connect with various audiences.
  • A keen awareness of Child Protection and risk management protocols.
  • Strong organizational capabilities with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable individuals.

Team Dynamics
You will be part of the Alternative Provision team within our Inclusion service, collaborating with other internal departments and external partners to develop solutions that yield positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families seeking alternative educational options. Our focus is on enhancing engagement, participation, and inclusion in education, and we are a dedicated team committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of young individuals.
