Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Patient Services Administrator to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Administration Centre, you will provide a patient-focused service by responding to queries from patients, referrers, and staff in a timely and professional manner.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take receipt of patient referrals and input relevant information into the electronic patient record.
  • Allocate patient referrals appropriately within services.
  • Manage patient appointments on the electronic patient record system.
  • Provide accurate written confirmation of appointments to patients.
  • Create and maintain databases/spreadsheets, ensuring accurate recording of information.

Job Responsibilities
  • Take initiative in suggesting improvements to administrative processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaise with GPs regarding patient referrals, both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage supplementary information required to support referrals.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with clinical colleagues to ensure effective processing of referrals and patient information.
  • Answer referrers and patient queries in a polite and courteous manner, transferring calls as necessary.
  • Administer processes to collate satisfaction feedback from patients and referrers.
  • Maintain the integrity of patient data on the electronic patient record, including creating and updating records.
  • Deal with incoming/outgoing correspondence from internal and external agencies efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure all letters, memos, and reports created by the team are accurate and meet Trust branding guidelines.
