About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Ward Manager to lead our team on Buckley Ward, a specialized male Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Woodview. This newly established unit offers a dynamic and evolving environment where you can contribute to the delivery of high-quality care for young patients.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing leadership within our multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless coordination of care for all inpatients.
- Oversee and ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions, upholding the highest standards of clinical record-keeping.
- Actively participate in service development initiatives, audits, and surveys to contribute to continuous improvement within our unit.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification with ongoing registration with the NMC.
- Specialist qualification or equivalent level in skills and development relevant to PICU care.
- Proven clinical expertise, coupled with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth understanding of adult mental health principles and the unique needs of pediatric patients.
- Working knowledge of the Care Programme Approach, NICE guidance, enhanced risk assessment, and the impact of physical health on mental well-being.
- Experience in supervising and managing staff within a healthcare setting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
