Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary ward team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our Trust's Quality Agenda.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care without direct supervision. You will work closely with our Senior Nursing team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and support. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to engage with patients, visitors, and colleagues, while your ability to prioritise your workload and manage your time effectively will be essential in meeting the demands of a rapidly changing acute clinical environment.

Person Specification
  • Registered 1st level of equivalent as verified by NMC
  • Able to take on board new ideas, skills, and knowledge
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Able to manage the care for a group of people and prioritise workload with minimal supervision
  • Be proficient at calculating drug doses
  • Able to write basic reports
  • Able to train less qualified carers/learners
  • Moving and handling, customer awareness, computer/keyboard skills-Cerner
  • Be able to work in a team
  • Be supportive of team members
  • Able to communicate effectively to patients, visitors, and colleagues
  • Able to reflect on one's own work
  • Proven ability to keep information confidential
  • Be enthusiastic, conscientious, and sympathetic
