About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Collections Assistant to join our team at The National Trust. As a Collections Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care and maintenance of our collections, ensuring that they are preserved for future generations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the cleaning and conservation of collections, including artifacts, documents, and other historical items
  • Monitor and maintain the environmental conditions in storage and display areas
  • Keep accurate records of collections, including condition reports and inventory
  • Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering questions and providing information about the collections
  • Work collaboratively with the collections team to achieve goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds
