Role Purpose:

The PMA Post-Award Engineering team is composed of multi-disciplinary professionals dedicated to delivering Umbilical products to our clients. This department encompasses various technical disciplines responsible for the design, verification, and associated hardware of umbilical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough specification reviews and assess compliance with internal standards to establish a robust umbilical design framework.
  • Evaluate the life cycle performance of umbilical products against relevant internal, international, and client-specific standards by developing detailed calculation packages tailored to the specific umbilical type/design.
  • Provide technical support for assigned projects, participating in design reviews, clarification meetings, and risk assessments during both project execution and manufacturing phases, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Ensure timely completion of work in accordance with established guidelines, design rules, and procedures.
  • Contribute to departmental objectives as identified by Lead Engineers and the Departmental Manager.
  • Identify and escalate technical risks to senior engineers as necessary.
  • Recommend updates to design rules to the Technical Authority and ensure adherence to company change control procedures for deviations.
  • Meet departmental and company QHS&E objectives and targets.
  • Engage in improvement initiatives and support departmental Lean initiatives.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Subsea Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in umbilical engineering and the broader offshore/subsea industry.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as MathCAD (or equivalent) and Orcaflex.
  • Experience with design software like AutoCAD and Inventor is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis tools such as Ansys and Abaqus.
  • Experience in implementing lean best practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver results within challenging project timelines.
