Role Overview

The PMA Post-Award Engineering team comprises multi-disciplinary professionals responsible for delivering Umbilical products to our clients. The technical expertise within this department focuses on the design and verification of umbilical products, as well as the associated hardware.

Engineers in this role will analyze the life cycle performance of all umbilical products within their project scopes, adhering to relevant internal, international, and client standards. Collaboration with senior engineers will be essential to identify risks and conduct engineering assessments beyond standard practices, ensuring product suitability. Support will also be provided for other projects within the PMA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review specifications and assess them against internal standards to establish umbilical design criteria.
  • Evaluate the life cycle performance of umbilical products according to applicable standards and create detailed calculation packages for specific umbilical designs.
  • Provide technical support for design reviews, clarification meetings, and risk assessments during both project execution and manufacturing phases under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Ensure timely completion of work in accordance with established guidelines, design rules, and procedures.
  • Contribute to departmental objectives as identified by Lead Engineers and the Department Manager.
  • Identify technical risks and escalate them to senior engineers when necessary.
  • Propose updates to design rules to the Technical Authority and ensure compliance with company change control procedures.
  • Meet departmental and company QHS&E objectives and targets.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and contribute to Lean practices within the department.

Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical or Subsea Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in umbilical engineering and the offshore/subsea industry.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools like MathCAD (or equivalent) and Orcaflex.
  • Knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor is advantageous.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools like Ansys and Abaqus.
  • Background in developing lean best practices.
  • Experience in managing challenging project schedules.
