About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant, Aseptic Services. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting the preparation and dispensing of aseptically produced products in isolators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of aseptically produced products in isolators, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and sterility of isolators, clean rooms, and equipment, ensuring a high standard of quality and patient safety.
  • Participate in the monitoring and cleaning rota of isolators, following standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with the daily monitoring of the environment in Aseptic Services, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare documentation and labels using the pharmacy computer system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and technical staff to ensure seamless workflow and efficient service delivery.
  • Participate in out-of-hours, weekend, and Bank Holiday rotas in Pharmacy Aseptics, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Person Specification
  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent (4/C or above)
  • NVQ Pharmacy Level 2 plus accredited underpinning knowledge or equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience of dispensing medication (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and procedures for pharmacy services (desirable)
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems (desirable)
  • Good interpersonal, communication, written, and oral skills
  • Good computer skills for generating labels/worksheets and using Microsoft Office tools
