Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recognized as one of the largest healthcare organizations in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 professionals across a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical roles. Our commitment is to deliver comprehensive healthcare services, including acute hospital care, primary care, community services, and mental health support to a population exceeding 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.

In alignment with NHS Scotland's initiative to transition to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, we are adapting our employment contracts accordingly. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. Please note that certain service areas may not immediately implement this change, and you may be required to work an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, for which you will be compensated until your service area adjusts its schedules.

We are currently in search of a dedicated Clinical Technology Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team focused on providing Nuclear Medicine services in South Glasgow.

The ideal candidate will engage in a variety of specialized technical responsibilities, ensuring high-quality patient care and clinical service delivery. Our South Glasgow department operates across multiple locations, handling over 10,000 patient procedures annually. The services we provide include SPECT-CT scanning, non-imaging procedures, DXA, therapy, and a specialized NeuroSPECT scanning service.

Applicants should possess an Honours Degree (or equivalent knowledge and experience) in a relevant field, along with post-qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine. Completion of peer-reviewed training in Nuclear Medicine, such as the IPEM Diploma in Clinical Technology (Nuclear Medicine) or an MSc/PgDip in Nuclear Medicine, is essential. Candidates who have not yet obtained the IPEM Diploma may be considered for a position at a lower grade until they can demonstrate equivalence, as outlined in the Register of Clinical Technologists (RCT) Scope of Practice for Nuclear Medicine.

We highly encourage prospective applicants to reach out to our department for further discussions regarding the position.
